Challenge
Creating a brand identity means considering even the finest details. From the overarching brand vision right down to every design aspect and creative decision. In 2019, we were approached to name and brand a civil engineering company based in Sydney, Australia. Ascent is a leader in civil engineering and infrastructure development. When thinking about the vast nature of their work, including dangerous working conditions and being on the frontier of clean energy production, we had a complex story to tell.

Starting with the strategic brand positioning developed with an internal team, OBM then created the visual identity of Ascent. At the center of the brand is a bold, minimalist logo that incorporates an angled and stylized “A”, nodding to the brand’s foundations in engineering and mathematics. We also developed a comprehensive visual identity that combines messaging, imagery and simple touches of movement to capture the energy and enthusiasm that Ascent engineering brings to the market. Translating the brand story to a functional web experience for Ascents clients gave license to experiment with modern design and intelligent interface mechanisms.
